Our Team
Maggie Stoker
Prior to founding MSConsultants in 1993, Maggie worked as an international portfolio manager for Capital House (Royal Bank of Scotland group) and Clerical Medical.
Maggie is a Fellow of the CFAUK and a member of the Securities & Investments Institute (SII). She sits on several examination panels, including the SII Qualifications Assessment Board, and is actively involved with examination development and item writing on a range of topics.
Maggie is the author of several books on markets, derivatives and portfolio management. She is also a guest speaker on a number of MBA programmes, including City University, Roffey Park Management Institute and Henley Management College.
Bill Allen
Bill worked in London and New York with JP Morgan and was a principal in an M&A firm prior to becoming a leading trainer and consultant for many of the worlds major financial institutions. He focuses mainly on promoting education in the sector, his subjects including derivatives, corporate finance, M&A, capital markets and asset/liability management. A Charter Financial Analyst (CFA), Bill has published many articles and books on finance, capital markets, derivatives and risk management topics.
Dawn Batchelor
Dawn has extensive technical knowledge of the application of Financial Services regulatory requirements, and has produced a compliance manual on the subject, covering both tied and IFA sales forces. An FCA, she specialises in the implementation of regulatory procedures and standards, including risk management techniques. Before joining the MSConsultants team, Dawn was Head of Risk Management and Compliance at Swiss Re.
Darren Burrows
Darren is a funds expert with detailed knowledge of UK, Irish and Luxembourg fund regulation, particularly UCITS funds. Until recently, he was Head of Funds Compliance at Citicorp Trustee Company Limited (CTCL), representing CTCL on the Depositary and Trustee Association's Technical Committee. His main areas of expertise include specialist compliance reviews, fund launches and conversions, derivatives usage under UCITS III, TCF, registration and distribution of funds and fair value pricing. He is a member of the ICA and the Securities & Investments Institute (SII).
Cormac Butler
Cormac has worked with Peat Marwick and Coopers & Lybrand and as a consultant for Lombard Risk Systems London and Euromoney. He has provided training in derivative accounting, corporate finance and derivative mathematics for many major banks, including Salomon Brothers and Robert Fleming, and has conducted in-house courses for, among others, Morgan Stanley Dean Whitter, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Investec. Cormacs bestselling book on risk management, Mastering Value at Risk (Financial Times /Prentice Hall) was published in 1999.
Jim Fleming
With nearly four decades of experience in financial services regulation, Jims areas of expertise include regulatory authorisations, permitted business, broker dealing, banking and insurance. Before joining MSConsultants, he was Head of Corporate Authorisation at the FSA and managed the change process in its corporate authorisation area. During his time at the FSA he was also responsible for T&C strategies.
Petros Geroulanos
Petros gained his professional experience with the Swiss Bank Corporation and Union Discount in Zurich and London. He has worked in trading, selling and structuring FX, equity exotic and fixed-income derivative products and in their underlying cash instruments. Since the early 1990s Petros has trained many thousands of delegates worldwide and has published more than 400 articles on FX-related topics.
Jo Kirby
A senior MSConsultants trainer, Jo has a wide range of experience in fixed interest, exotic derivatives and interest rate swaps. Rising from Interest Rate Swap and Option Trader with JP Morgan to Vice President of Fixed Income with their South African office, she was then appointed Director of Fixed Income for Barclays Capital in South Africa, where her responsibilities included price making all South African Gilts to interbank counterparties and clients. Jo is a Licentiate Member of CIPD.
Julia Kirkland
With more than 20 years experience in fund pricing, valuation and administration for several firms, including Schroders and Robert Fleming, Julia delivers MSConsultants workshops on retail products, investment management and fund administration. Drawing on her experience in HR and L&D at Invesco, she is also a member of our consultancy team, providing guidance on TNAs, soft skills training and L&D review and implementation. Julia also provides examination training for the Securities & Investments Institute.
Steve McGann
Steve delivers MSConsultants courses on bonds, derivatives, technical analysis, capital markets and risk management, covering such topics as FX, money markets, options, futures, swaps, equity and fixed-income products. He has first-hand experience of bond sales as a Director at Chase Investment Bank, and at Tullett &Tokyo he set-up and ran a fixed-income desk to arbitrage across bond, futures and money markets for a wide range of investment and trading clients. Using a range of technical analysis techniques, Steve publishes forecasts on Reuters.
Dallas McGillvray
Dallas brings a wealth of experience to MSConsultants compliance consultancy services. He spent 17 years at Invesco, most recently as Global Head of Compliance and Operational Risk. His area of expertise includes asset management, operational risk, mutual funds, hedge funds and, in particular, aligning financial service processes with regulatory requirements. Dallas is a member of the Securities and Investment Institute (SII), Institute of Directors (IoD) and Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
David Pullinger
One of the senior consultants in MSConsultants talent management team, and a Fellow of the CIPD and RSA, David has worked at a senior level in several major investment institutions. He was in HR management with Norwich Union Life and Zurich Financial Services and, more recently, held the position of Group Head of L&D at Legal & General. Davids expertise lies in developing HR strategies and providing executive coaching and management training.
Sue Roberts
After more than 12 years in retail fund operations and, more recently, as leader of the L&D team at Deutsche Asset Management, Sue has re-trained as a life coach. She holds an Accredited Diploma in Life Coaching Practice and is a member pf the International Coaching Federation. Sue uses a holistic approach to problem-solving and offers a range of workshops for senior managers in financial services to help them develop their personal potential. Sue also works with MSConsultants on developing competency frameworks, conducting TNAs and implementing training programmes.
Andrew Rosario
An accomplished Senior Management professional with more than 20 years experience in financial services, Andrew has worked in sales and marketing with Bell International, in L&Gs IFA and Regulated Complaints divisions and as Director of Wrap with Norwich Union. He is an Associate of the CIPD and has a Diploma in Financial Services. Andrews main areas of expertise lie in people management, project management, FSA regulations and TCF requirements.
Cheryl Harris
Cheryl has worked in the financial services industry for the last 20 years across Investment Management, Retail Financial Services, Regulated Sales Staff, Middle & Back Office. Focusing on training technical and application skills she has worked for Legal & General, Barclays, HSBC and was Head of Training at Gartmore Investment Management. In her 7 years as a Senior Manager with KPMG she managed projects for a wide range of clients including Co-operative Insurance Services, Zurich Life, Barclays, Abbey, Shell, BP and The Home Office. Over the past 12 months she has focused on designing and delivering training on investment management, investment operations, collective investment schemes, UCITS, TCF, derivatives and hedging as part of the MSConsultants team.
