The client:

A boutique hedge fund firm based in London

Their problem:

The firm wanted to convert an existing Channel Islands-based hedge fund to UCITS III status and train their front-line investment managers and support staff in the UCITS regulatory framework and explore their investment opportunities under UCITS III.

Our solution:

MSConsultants designed a bespoke 3-hour workshop to cover the difference between Hedge Fund investment universe and the opportunities under UCITS III. In particular the discussion revolved around the limitations if the firm decided not to adopt full Wider Powers under UCITS III, especially in terms of the investment potential to take positions in the currency markets and run long/short strategies in equities.
