Introduction to Leadership
Category: Talent Management
Course level: Intermediate
In house
Sustaining competitive advantage is a challenge for any business. The quality of leadership can provide real and long-term advantage that is hard to replicate. However, taking on a leadership role can be difficult for many people who are more attracted by the technical challenge of the job and direct involvement in the task.
This one-day workshop recognises these issues and is specifically aimed at helping people with excellent technical skills succeed in a leadership role.
The workshop is designed to introduce delegates to some key concepts in leadership and management and to demonstrate how these could be introduced into the workplace. It is highly interactive and informal.
Objectives
By the end of this workshop, delegates will:
- understand the differences between doing, managing and leading, and how to succeed at all three!
- know their leadership style
- appreciate the importance of really valuing the nature of managing, alongside achieving the task
- experience at least one new leadership skill
- have the confidence to make a change in the workplace
- Delegates will understand how to continue with the successful paths of their careers
