Team Building Workshop
Category: Talent Management
Course level: Intermediate
In house
The real value of working in teams is the achievement of synergy, when the output from the team is better than the best individual. Team members too often feel their time is being wasted rather than feeling valued and stimulated.
There are two key features that differentiate a team from a collection of individuals: unity of purpose; and a collective sense of purpose.
This one-day workshop will help delegates deliver maximum value from their team work by providing them with an understanding of the different styles in the team, and how their contribution can be maximised.
It also addresses the ‘Apollo Syndrome’, characterised by Dr Meredith Belbin when he noticed that teams comprised of highly able individuals often did not perform as well as expected.
The workshop will work with real teams and help delegates to get maximum value from their meetings.
Objectives
By the end of the workshop, delegates will:
- be able to identify their individual style and how it can be used to greatest effect in the team
- understand the overall characteristics of the team, and how this can be deployed to greatest effect
- know when to meet, and when to work apart
- recognise the opportunity for synergy by focusing on a clear set of outcomes
- have experienced team working and understand the impact of feedback
